Trimming & Pruning

A tree doesn't heal a cut the way skin does — it seals it off and grows around it. Where the cut lands decides whether that happens cleanly or whether you've opened a door for decay.

That's the whole difference between pruning and just cutting branches off. We prune to the collar, take the right amount at the right time of year, and leave a tree that's structurally better than we found it.

What's Included

Structural pruning
Correcting form on young and mid-age trees so they don't grow into a problem you pay to remove in fifteen years.
Crown reduction and thinning
Bringing height and spread back without topping. Topping ruins trees — we don't do it.
Deadwooding
Pulling out dead and hanging limbs before they come down on a car, a roof, or somebody.
Clearance pruning
Raising canopies off roofs, driveways, walkways, and sightlines.
Storm damage cleanup
Cleaning up torn and split limbs with proper cuts so the wound can close.

How It Goes

  1. 01

    Inspect

We look at species, age, health, and what the tree is actually doing — then tell you what it needs, which is sometimes less than you expected.

  2. 02

    Plan

Scope gets written down: which limbs, how much, and what the tree will look like when we're done.

  3. 03

    Execute

Clean cuts at the collar, no spikes in a tree we're not removing, and every piece of brush chipped and hauled.
